CONGRATULATIONS TO YVONNE SICKLE
WINNER OF THE MSC STARLIGHT CRUISES TRIP TO NAMIBIA!

And here is what she had to say!

My husband and I visited the expo early on Sunday morning 16th October 2011.

We walked around admiring the different stalls related to outdoor and ended up in the tent where Cape Union Market had the biggest stall.

I needed to find a suitable all weather jacket and some flat shoes for the trip. Mario, my husband, is going on a fishing trip while we are away so we were also looking for a tent and a sleeping bag.

We ended up buying the following:

  • 1 three man tent @ R699 saving R300 rand
  • 2 sleeping bags @ R199 each saving R400 altogether
  • 1 Camping chair @ R399 saving R200
  • 1 K-Way sweater @R125 saving R125
  • 1 rain jacket @ R499 with 20% off
  • 1 per of CROCS sandals @ R399 with 20% off
The above purchases (which we would have made anyway) only cost us R2,339 with a total saving of R1,205. It was great that the stall had the facility to pay by card.

All the other stalls were fascinating as well but as we had already spent more than we budgeted for we did not buy anything else.

We really enjoyed the outing and were ecstatic with the saving on our purchases.

So winning the competition has been fantastic for 3 reasons:

  1. I now get to not feel guilty anymore that my husband is not going with me on the cruise from Genoa (it would have been too expensive for both of us).
  2. I have never won anything before.
  3. The R2,500 spent is even more worth it now that I have won the competition.
